Gator fans play tribute to favorite son Tom Petty at game

Well, the University of Florida Gators may have lost the game against the LSU Tigers on Saturday but they won the internet during their incredible tribute to musician Tom Petty, who passed way last week.

Mostly, head coach Ed Orgeron will get a little peace and quiet and can get on with the task of getting his team up to snuff. It looks like he will be healthy for this Saturday which bodes well for LSU. LSU's defense threw a fourth quarter shutout for the win with White at his old position. The junior has nine tackles and half a sack in three games.

"The first thing we have to do is push the pace", said the Bishop Kenny graduate. "Now we've got to pull everything together". Practice was all about that.

Florida, which rushed for 194 yards and passed for 108, never seemed to pose a big-play threat against the Tigers' defense. Of course, if LSU plans to keep winning, that improvement must come quickly.

"Under the circumstances the three freshmen did very well", Orgeron said. "I saw Franks' eyes". One difference is the ball is often quickly handed to a receiver in motion just as he gets to the quarterback.

And it was over. Florida beat LSU in Baton Rouge previous year after stuffing Derrius Guice from the 1 in the waning seconds of the game. The Gators can break an NCAA scoring record. FB Tory Carter caught a two-yard pass from Danny Etling with 10:56 to go in the third quarter, followed by a successful PAT by Culp. The blueprint has nothing to do with plays, but more with the players' mindset, Orgeron said. "That's what we've been missing". Guice was held to 50 yards on 17 carries against Florida with no run gaining more than eight yards. The ball came down, with Dawson appearing to take it into his arms for the interception as the two players went to the ground.

I know the opposition will be different and it will be tight but if we create clear-cut chances, a percentage have got to be good. Williams also praised their match-winner Lawrence, it was the Derby striker's first global goal and came in his ninth appearance.

Yankees beat Twins in Major League Baseball wildcard playoff
After all, it's hard to argue with the results of the Yankees' 8-4 win over the Twins in Tuesday's wild-card game in The Bronx. With the addition of pitchers like David Robertson at the trade deadline, NY have one of the deepest pens in all of baseball.

Verstappen hopeful Red Bull can repeat Malaysia GP performance
With new tyres Vettel set fastest lap after fastest lap, obliterating the race lap record at Sepang which has stood since 2004. This was only his second F1 win in his career and it kept Red Bull in a solid third spot in the constructor's championship.

"That was all heart you saw out there today", Moreau said.

Play calls were slow to arrive from the sideline and players walked to the line of scrimmage as seconds ticked away. "It just (stinks) to lose this way, but I don't put the loss on any one thing".

The lack of continuity on the offensive line is certainly having a negative effect on the LSU running game. It was his fourth consecutive game with double-digit tackles.

Junior center Will Clapp echoed a similar sentiment. Malone and Weathersby were replaced by true freshmen Saahdiq Charles and Austin Deculus, respectively. "We're not going to blame anybody". "We didn't blink, and we weren't going to". Leading wide receiver Tyrie Cleveland is also doubtful for this Saturday with an ankle injury. Obviously, we've had some really good games the last couple of weeks.

The Tigers still have problems, and they are playing a lot better team in Auburn next Saturday.

"We got beat in all the shifts and motions", no less an authority than Florida coach Jim McElwain said. "This was the week where we could build something and find leadership".
