Cowboys, Packers Inactives for Week 5

Cowboys, Packers Inactives for Week 5

The Cowboys led the Rams 24-13 in the second quarter before losing 35-30.

As in every National Football League game, there were so many plays that led to the final drive - the bogus personal foul call against Packers' linebacker Blake Martinez on the Cowboys' first drive. The odds are against every quarterback in that situation, even Rodgers. But lost in those impressive numbers was the fact that Rodgers also finished second on the team with 369 #Rushing Yards and totaled a team-best four touchdowns on the ground.

The Packers eliminated Dallas from the playoffs on the same field in January, when Rodgers converted a key third-and-20 play in the closing seconds and kicker Mason Crosby nailed a 51-yard field goal as time expired.

Rodgers' scoring throw to Adams capped a nine-play, 75-yard march that took only 1:02. Rodgers went back to the same exact play, hitting Adams in a place only he could reach for the game-winning touchdown. When the Packers got the ball back with more than a minute left, it seemed inevitable Rodgers would get at least a field goal to tie.

49ers RB Hyde will play vs. Cardinals with hip injury
Gould has made 28 consecutive field-goal attempts dating back to 2015. "I'm really proud of our guys", Arians said afterwards. San Francisco will battle and keep it close , but Arizona will ultimately have a play or two that puts them ahead for good.

US rocker Tom Petty reported dead at age 66 -US media
He elaborated in a 2014 conversation with Men's Journal about his relative lack of vices: "I'm mostly just a reefer guy". Petty's publicist confirmed late Monday that the rocker died at 8:40 p.m. after having suffered cardiac arrest.

"I was focused on getting my knees up", Rodgers said of his running style. It seemed nearly academic after that. "I got down the sideline and put us in a position to win the game".

Well, mostly flawless. If it had been without flaw, the touchdown would have come as time expired instead of leaving Rodgers with a minute and two seconds to work with. Jones ran 19 times for 125 yards, averaged over six yards per carry and scored a touchdown. Their lone defeat came on the road against the Falcons.

Which is why when Dallas faces this eventuality again, it knows it has to do something drastic and permanent to make a lead stick against Green Bay's Aaron Rodgers. It fell to the ground incomplete, stopping the clock and allowing the Packers to preserve their final timeout. One has to wonder if Jones has shown enough these past two weeks to push Montgomery for playing time once he returns from injury. That call was the one mistake Dallas made on an otherwise flawless drive. But he gave just as much credit to everyone else's execution along the way, which kept a large menu of plays at his disposal throughout the frantic final drive.

"It's a little bit hard to think about", Elliott said after the 35-31 loss Sunday that dropped the Cowboys to 2-3.
