Cornyn: Any Deal Between Trump and Dems Is Not Binding

House Speaker Paul Ryan has expressed support for legalising the Dreamers, but insisted on Thursday that negotiations had yet to begin.

No deal was made last night on DACA.

He said Trump will pay "severe political consequences" if he backs away from strict border security and wall construction.

Asked about the discussion Thursday morning, Trump told as he departed the White House for Florida that "the wall will come later". He added that "the wall will come later".

Because of President Trump's action, 800,000 young people have lost their legal status to live and work in the United States.

But Trump appeared to contradict that later while en route to visit with Floridians. We're not looking at amnesty.

What we can say is this: members of the Trump administration met with the democrats Wednesday night. We're talking about taking care of people, people who were brought here, people who have done a good job, and were not brought here of their own volition.

"What's reported is that Pelosi and Schumer had a dinner conversation with President Trump".

Anti-immigration Republican Congressman Steve King responded furiously, saying such a deal would mean the "Trump base is blown up, destroyed, irreparable, and disillusioned beyond fix". One panned the president as "Amnesty Don". White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders soon tweeted that "excluding the wall was certainly not agreed to".

Trump has yet to make clear exactly where he stands.

Pelosi said it's important to give Dreamers an opportunity to become citizens.

"That swamp he was gonna drain. he has jumped into that swamp", the caller said.

Seahawks versus Packers week one
Wilson struggled with timing on quick passing plays in the past, but it's something he worked on in camp to improve this year. That was all the offense the Packers needed. "I feel like I can remember any of the good rushes that I had", Fackrell said.

He explained: "We are receiving constant reports of violence by Myanmar's security forces, including indiscriminate attacks". Fisherman Noor Mohammed, 50, said three members of his family in Rakhine were killed a few days ago.

Hoping to capitalize on their momentum, Pelosi and Schumer said that they would meet with Trump next week to discuss the ouster of Vice-President Mike Pence.

Ryan disputed the idea that any deal had been struck, though his argument seemed to turn largely on semantic distinctions.

Julian Lucas and Maria Kuripet, two DACA recipients, were part of the panel, in which they first clarified that they do not like being identified as "Dreamers". But one of the bills pushed by Democrats would allow a path for citizenship for those affected - something overwhelmingly opposed by the president's base.

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell on Thursday appeared to believe an agreement is not imminent. DACA, created by Barack Obama, shields the Dreamers, mostly Hispanic young adults, from deportation and provides work permits.

"The Trump administration will not be discussing amnesty", she said. He spoke at a rally by civil-rights groups.

Hours earlier, in another bipartisan meeting with the president, Democratic Rep. Henry Cuellar, of the 28th District of Texas, said they were told, "The president wants to do DACA, doesn't want to wait six months".

"The pressure to act, because of the president's countdown to eliminate DACA has forced the hand [of Congress, ]" Rottinghaus says. "Must be abstract art of the deal because I'm not seeing it".

But some immigration advocates in the Senate cheered him on. He is not the president of 15 percent of the population.

"We're trying to explain that to anyone who doesn't understand", Peterson said.

But Sen. Ron Wyden, the top Democrat on the Finance Committee, described the special rate for small business as a "lunar crater-sized loophole" for the wealthy to exploit. For these Republicans, principles have been replaced by pragmatism. Jeff Flake, R-Ariz., another immigration advocate, so be it. That question goes not so much to Democrats as to the Republican leadership.

Trump has maintained his desire to build a wall, even threatening a government shutdown last month if he did not get his way.
