Burned Girl, Sa'fyre Terry, Asks Only For One Thing This Christmas

Safyre Terry was badly burned in an arson fire that killed her family two years ago. She also suffered severe burns over most of her body.

Dolder told her she was coming to the post office to pick up one card, and when she was shown a bin filled with cards and presents, her reaction was as genuine as they come.

She even has a special Facebook page, Safyre Schenectady's Super Survivor, and her aunt uses it to keep everyone updated on Safyre's condition.

"You know what it is, the message, her message is out, her message is out to the world, and that's what we're happy about", said Liz Dolder, Safyre's aunt.

"That's when she came back out", Dolder said, wiping away tears.

Doctors were just waiting for Sa'fyre to pass away, as her face was severely burnt, a lot of skin was lost because of the burns. "But you've got to believe in that hope, faith, and love", Dolder said.

The 8-year-old's wish was to fill the card holder with Christmas cards from around the world. "I'm glad that we can be a part of that, but more importantly, I'm glad that she can have a great Christmas".

A Facebook post was done by a family friend, asking for the cards for Sa'fyre. Asked by reporters what she would say to the strangers who had been moved to send these things, she beamed into a camera.
